Purpose and Mission
I often wonder what to say when someone asks me to share about who I am. It is a loaded question but here is a short snapshot:
I am a sinner saved by an overabundance of grace. My life is a living testimony of that! I am a proud mom of twins. They are my walking miracles and my abundantly mores. I am a widow and was married to an amazing man for 8 years—a man who is now with Jesus.
I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 10 years. I have a heart to help those who are hurting. My journey has since shifted its course since beginning in the field of mental and behavioral health. What started as a calling, became a personal mission when my late husband took his life after battling mental illness and addiction. I became a Therapist because I personally know what it is like to experience pain, and I know what it is like to fight towards healing.
I now join the front lines to educate and bring awareness of mental health to those who may not understand it, who feel lost living with it, who hide in it, and who choose silence because of it. God cares about us—He cares about our mental health. Discovering hope and healing is a journey and I am honored to walk in that with others.
My hope is to be a light (though sometimes dim) to a dark world. May the Lord use my words and mission so that when they see me, they see Him.
